Welcome Summer 2022!
About a month ago, we asked for your prayer and partnership as we anticipated stepping out by faith to hire our three existing volunteers to help full-time over the course of about 10 weeks. It’s hard to believe that the month has flown by and we have started this past week! We will be posting weekly updates on Fridays to keep you up-to-date and on what we are doing. Thank you for your prayer and partnership as we serve the Lord.

If you missed the news about the summer project and what the team will be doing, catch up by reading this email to see how you can support our project through prayer or financial support.

Summer Worker Project Final Update: Week 10
As we close out our 10-week project, we want to thank you for your prayers and partnership. We could not have done it without you. Through the Lord’s strength and guidance, we were able to complete over 100 tasks. Many of those tasks have been on hold for several years. We have learned so much and will cherish this experience and the lessons learned for years to come.
Jocelyn: Wow! I can’t believe that this project is already complete. As I look back over the past 10 weeks, I am so thankful for this opportunity and the strength God gave us to keep working for His glory. This summer, much of what I worked on was editing various diagram videos, many of which are on Youtube at sveq.org/video. This experience has reminded me of the faithfulness of God and how we need to just be faithful and let Him work through our lives so He can be glorified. As I move on, I will be forever grateful for this opportunity to serve and cannot wait to see what the Lord has in store for the materials that were able to be completed.
Jeff: This summer has been an incredible opportunity and blessing. I was able to edit video scripts, conduct interviews with Duane Anderson about the Bible training diagrams and other training resources, and complete the S&E Statement of Faith project (hopefully). This process has been impactful personally, as it has forced me to grow in my walk and dependence upon the Lord. The Statement project forced me to learn to communicate accurately what the Bible teaches, and the many video shoots taught me practical applications of these truths, even as I was helping to produce the content.
Shane: It’s finally here! Our last week! It’s been such a blessing to have the opportunity to use the skills God has given me to serve him. It’s been a dream of mine for a long time to get to do video work as a job, especially in a ministry context. I want to thank everyone who has been praying for the team, and who is giving of their time and resources for our benefit. I pray that God will use these resources for his glory and the benefit of those people he has chosen. It’s so comforting to know that God doesn’t need us, yet he chooses to use us, and He’s always doing so much more in the world than I can ever realize or be a part of.
David: As we finish out our last full week, I was asked what “I have learned or am taking away” from our time as an S&E Summer Team,
The first thing that I learned is that it’s an honor to work alongside brothers and sisters in Christ who desire to serve HIM. It’s a lot different than working in an office alone – even with a large family around.
With as much of a challenge as it is to keep myself on track and on schedule with projects, I was concerned coming into the summer that I’d need to do more “guidance” helping the team through stages along the way. While they did ask a ton of questions, they each knew their assignments, and capably progressed as self-starters once we got rolling each day.
To see brothers and sisters in Christ get excited about using their gifts and abilities for God’s glory is exciting and motivating for me. To walk alongside them as they experience life – talking out and occasionally praying together with them was an encouragement to me as well.
I was reminded of the importance of starting the day in God’s Word – we took turns as team members reading and sharing a devotional time together each morning. It was encouraging to hear how God continued to work in each of their lives over the 10 weeks.
I’m excited for next year. I pray that the Lord enables another team for next year.
